I wrote a week ago on a post called confession.
Just wanted to write an update. I spoke with my substitute therapist today and opened up about my shoplifting and sexual indiscretions.I was at first very reluctant about this, but felt it was important into getting the correct treatment (thanks to your guys' encouragement) So, next we meet on Thursday, and I think she'll have more of a plan for treatment for me. I also reached out to a good friend to see if he could go grocery shopping with me this weekend, since last time I was in the store, I lifted, and I would feel more comfortable having someone with me.
So, some good progress. This isn't easy though. Its not easy admitting to someone dispicable things about yourself. But I know they were compulsions, and not really things I could control. And hopefully therapy will help me to deal with the shame and guilt associated with the shoplifting.
And also the grief with losing my online relationship. We were really close friends, and I cared for him dearly, and now he's gone....so sad.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

All the best x
The best thing we can do for ourselves is to open up and be honest. The only way we can truly get the help we need and deserve is if those who are in a position to help know what is happening.
Congradulations on taking thise step. I wish you much more success in the future.
So great to know you've found the strength hidden within that word...encouragement...emblazon those two word in your mind and you will find your way to the path you choose to be on.
Keep doing what you're doing, AK, it seems to be pointing you in the right direction.
~peace in~
We often have to have a plan in place for change and you're doing amazing... This is the way we get our life back and find some stability..
Therapists have heard it all before and will help you continue to make healthier choices..
We've all done things we aren't proud of.. If it were me that fessed up to shoplifting would you forgive me and not want me to harbour guilt??
Be as kind to yourself.. You deserve it...x
Compulsion, hard to control the thoughts, but we do have control over the actions.... Work, difficult, but a much better life : ) Instead of worse....
With Awareness, there is hope to learn how to managed both - Accepting your a good person, forgiving yourself -
New Actions- on creating a better life - WONDERFUL UPDATE : )
Keep up the good work, and do continue to hang out with the us, you are not alone, and fit right in!
And then in my past are dark visions of a Rahab (not Rehab but Rahab of the Bible) like experiences that would read very p***n-like.
I am glad that you have a good therapist.
I always remind myself--I am as my brother and one of my sisters--I am always on a 12 step like existence, always checking my moral compass.
I had a shoplifting addiction also. This went on for years with some intermittent periods. But my drug addiction took things way out of control to the point where I got caught. I got into a lot of trouble with the law and I can tell you first hand it's not worth it.
I'd seriously get that shoplifting under control before it's too late!
I have had to confess similar indiscretions more than once... so very hard at the moment, but is the start of a new beginning.
Nothing like figuring out a new and better way to live.
All the best to you!!
high five!
Try to remember that these behaviors are part of your condition - they are not part of YOU! They do not define you as a person. There are merely symptoms and indicators of an underlying problem.
Stay strong, continue to be open with your therapist and be kind and compassionate to yourself. *hug*
Best wishes!
