Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I've very happy you and Maria are together again and your life is going so well.
If you want things to continue to go your way, you MUST take your meds. I speak from experience, boxy. I went through the whole, "I'm well now and I don't need meds anymore." It's all great at first, until it's not. You have gone through it quite a few times, too.
Recently, I made a contract with myself to take suicide completely off the table as a solution to anything. Please, think about signing a contract with yourself that you will not change or stop your meds without your doctors help. The contract is real and it stops me from doing anything impulsively. Also, don't you think Maria deserves some input in the decision? It's her life, too.
You are right that this is the rest of our lives. You know, everyone has some chronic condition, ours just happens to be mental illness. Treat it and accept it as chronic and I think you will find some peace in the accepting.
I am always wishing the very best for you, boxy. I can picture you and Maria living a life of Happily Ever After.
