I have had a very brief mania the last four days It was wild. I saw knights on horseback riding through my backyard! I started moving everything in my house around, to make it have more open space. I started two other projects. I bought a new laptop. I was on top of the world!
Now I am crashing fast. As I look around, I am in the midst of a mess. My house is in a shambles, and I know I will never finish the projects I started. I sure didn't have the money to go buy a new laptop, but I'm keeping it anyway! For me mania is always a big high, I enjoy more, and I am more creative. But now that I'm coming down, I feel like a piece of crap. I'm back to being bored again. I don't have much fun when I am not manic. I lose all the self confidence I had when I was on that high.
How do I keep that fun going, and not be such a boring person when I'm not manic? How do I get myself to finish the projects I started? How do I keep my self confidence up? Most importantly, how do I stop from spiraling down into deep depression as I always do after a manic episode?
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

If you're not already "down", clean up as Much as you Can before time runs out.
FORGIVE YOURSELF. It's Not Your Fault you don't feel as good when you're depressed; it Happens.
Write down all the Wonderful things you set out to do while you've been "Up", plus all the Wonderful things you KNOW that you ARE. (when you're depressed you're likely to Forget you're anybody special, so it's good to have Reminders!)
Distract yourself, like theatrediva says. It's hanging around in our Heads when we're depressed that screws with our opinions of ourselves and our lives.
And lastly - have some ((((((HUGS))))))) to help you through :)
My mania always lasted quite a while and wound up with me being hospitalized and/or arrested. Then the following depression was unbearable. There is treatment for mania. To me anybody who wants to keep mania going has never experienced the whole of it.
I think manias and the myth of creativity needs some scrutiny , you said " I am more creative" but then " I know I will never finish the projects I started". Not being funny but that means mania is not a creative phase as nothing gets completed.
I had many great ideas when elevated but they remained only that, ideas. creativity means actually producing something.
My sugggestion is that is you can keep on an even keel you will actually be more creative in that you will have completed stuff at the end of the day.
I am trying to keep my mind busy. I finally got everything put back in order! At least my house got a good cleaning out of this all! LOL!
