My dad just called me this morning and said he had gotten a call from my brother, my heart sank because he never calls this early in the day because he is generally at work and is too busy, so I knew something was wrong.

My brother works with the blasting company that works with the coal mining company. It is a very dangerous job. This morning two of his crew members died when they were driving to set a blast and the rock wall came down on the truck they were driving. My brother watched the whole thing happen. That could have easily been him.

I am sick now. He is expecting his first child in Feb and his life is good and he could loose it in a split second. I know we all could at any point and time, but it just really freaked me out.

I am already a bundle of nerves and tears this didn't help matters much.

Sossie it was not your brother , he is ok. You have to keep saying that to yourself over and over. Getting reminders of our mortality and that of our loves ones can be upsetting and you need to meet it head on. Yes its hard when someone dies but in this instance it was not your family. Spare a thought and a prayer for those who did lose their lives today and their families but remember remember remember it was not your brother he is ok. A few years ago my brother was working with a friend in a part of the factory where no one really goes. He is the utilities manager but always gets his hands dirty and works with those guys under him. Anyway he left to go get some tools and just after he left the machine they were working on blew and his friend was killed instantly . My brother missing losing his life by minutes. It sickened my stomach for days but I just had to keep saying he was ok it was not him. I think because I said it so much I actually began to believe it .
Hang in there , don't let this be the thing that pushes you over the edge today ......

But it wasnt him he is here!! it wasnt his time!
Celebrate his life dont get anxious and let it trigger you baby take time to realize how precious yours and his and the new baby are. take time to look at the birds flowers all of Gods beauty and thank God for sparing him!! REJOICE in the lord!!!

((((Soss))) he is alive and that happened for a reason - thinking the baby has something to do with it. May the two that lost their lives already be in a better place. Celebrate via the phone with N the fact that he is still here for now and go see him as soon as you can

I know how upsetting this is. The miracle is that you brother did not die, God has a plan for him, and that he is ok! Remember that and hang on to that with all you got.

When I was driving in Florida, a giant Truck carrying vehicles on it swerved into our lane and I had only seconds to respond. Me and my whole family could have been killed in an instant. We were not, Gods plan was for us to live. I don't know why and I don't question it. It happened and I was freaked me out for a few hours but I got over it and thanked God for blessing us that day.

Here is the news story. The helicopter video was chilling. If you do look at it the ridge where the trucks and people are standing looking down is where my brother was standing when it happened. They have closed the mine for now while they are investigating what happened.

Yes I am so grateful God was watching over my family today and I am praying for the families that lost their fathers, husbands and sons.

(((((((((((((Sossie)))))))))))))))) Please remind yourself that it wasn't your brother and he is ok, physically. It is terrible that the other two men were killed. But do not let this trigger you. Or at least try not to anyway. With school and work and everything else you have going on you don't need to be triggered. I will say a prayer for you and for your brother and his family. Is there anyway that you can visit him this weekend? Does he live close enough for that? If you can visit him it might make you feel better.
