Celebrex Experience ** may trigger**

I started a new medication at the direction from my Doc. He prescribed me 200mg of Celebrex a day. Day 1 was thursday May16. By Friday night I was covered in itchy hives and beginning to freak out that I had some sort of infestation in my room and felt like bugs were crawling all over me. I was also hearing people calling my name and speaking and it really began to scare my mother. I got to the point I called 9-1-1 and went in basically i got an expensive ride to the hospital b/c those chose not to treat me. Saturday night got really bad and I hadn't slept since Wednesday. Celebrex kind of put me into a manic episode with auditory and visual hallucinations. On Sunday I kept thinking it was night time. At 11 am i laid down to sleep and would sleep 10 min and wake up in a panic over the bugs.



I got really scared, and now I don't know what to believe and I don't want to ask questions to my mom about what she saw. I've not been that out of it since I got clean and sober..very scary

I'm sorry that this happened to you. I think that maybe you should call the psychiatrist and be very firm and ask that today you need to see him or her stat.

I know about expensive amublance rides; they are no fun.

Actually, this is a common reaction to Celebrex, especially if you are BP I

You really should talk to your Pdoc ASAP.
No need to suffer.

Question..when you say Doc, do you mean a Primary Care Dr , or a Psychiatrist.?
A Primary Care Dr , may not be familiar with this kind of reaction...see a Pdoc , a Psychiatrist

I see a regular MD and through his office, because of my insurance, I can only see a PDoc through telepsychiatry. We all three meet once a month and go over incidents and such, I need to call and request a new meeting.
