I've struggled with motivation from time to time.

What is your degree in? Does "at home" mean with your parents? Are they in an area that can support your career preferences?

I'd love to chat with you. My middle daughter moved to Austin about a year ago and I'm for sure coming down your way for the Houston Livestock Show next spring.

going through it right now....for the upteenth time. 36 and living back at home. I have a college degree but never did anything with it. Trying to look for jobs right now but it is hard out there. I dont have much experieince and I have so many gaps in work history due to my many "meltdowns"....I do have faith that I will be productive again some day...I hope that for you as well:)

I think the majority of us have at times... You're taking a class and that's GREAT!.. You're doing something for yourself and getting out..
Sometimes we can just become stuck and sometimes it can be depression?.. Do you think your meds are working well?

I get stuck there - but I'm learning that with my issues - I HAVE to create a life to live....

Its hard, but actions will change thoughts - faster than thoughts will change actions, for me that means lots of forcing, pushing and trying, uncomfortable as hell, it does get easier and there are more things to be proud of.....

Talk to your pdoc about your meds, you may be depressed. It is discouraging to not have a job esp when you have a degree,. At least you are taking a class and that is helping motivate you some. Have you tried talk therapy?

Thank you all. I have applied for jobs in and out of my field with no luck for a yr. I am also legally blind so getting around transportation wise is a bit more difficult. I rely mainly on my parents. I do use the buses more now. It does not stop me from being able to get a job. I do live with my parents. I like my class and it is something outside the box for me. I may need an adjustment with my meds.

I didn't realize that you were legally blind. Did you see the recent "Master Chef" series that crowns the #1 homecook in America? This year's winner was completely blind. So inspiring!!

Finding a job is taking longer for lots of folks. Don't lose heart!

Have you tryed applying for ssi or ssdi . It sounds like due to your proublems its hard to hold down a job.Im in a similer situation and SSi helped alot were i can be independent and live on my own.Dont kick yourself when your down remember you are not alone. Many people have problems and dont work.I hope this helps sincerly Jessica

I am on disability for my blindness. I am not sure if I can handle the stress of a full time job. Just bc I still have meltdowns and get really angry when over tired and or stressed. But I am trying though. This has been a hard yr but it is getting better.
