I have the depression spells, but I never have the highs as they describe it. I don't get hyper, talkative, over confindent and so on. I am pretty much the oppisite of all those things. Shy and very self hating. The only symptom I have had that could be considered as a high is being very sexually active, but that was back in my teens. Now I don't care if I ever have sex again! So it confuses me as to whether it's BP or just depression.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

Did your pdoc not have a reason for the diagnosis? Have you asked them why they dx you bp?
Man, that would drive me crazy to have to deal with. My hat's off to you- you're a lot more calm than I would be. I'd be literally clawing up the walls.
Hope all is OK.
Lots of hugs and love

For me, when I get hypomanic and angry it's because people are too slow on the road, walk in front of me. Also I would say that hypomania feels very different from depression. depression I see as being slow, hypomania as fast, pressured to do things.
The difference between my depression and mixed state is that I feel all the symptoms of dysphoric hypo mania and depression at the same time. I want to sleep but cant, my mind races, I feel pressured but cant move, I am highly agitated and want to die, I am hyper sexual, want to spend to quell the anxiety and need to do something etc.
I almost want to classify myself as BP1 from earlier years when I heard some voices or sounds and saw shadow people, but it doesnt happen anymore. Doc says we can have mixed cycles with BP2, he believes.
I understand your confusion and if you are not sure there is no reason not to have a second opinion. I have had many and they all say the same thing. Be content with your diagnosis so you can accept your illness as it is and work to be your best. xoxo
