Do you drink any coffee or any form of caffeine on you meds? If so does it make you manic or just speed you up for a little bit? I have heard of it inducing mania but I just want to see if people have like a cup in the morning or something to get them going?

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

I went to a lecture given by a pdoc that specialized in anxiety disorders and he said the first question that he asked any new patient was what is their caffeine intake
It can cause severe anxiety for some
Anxiety is not one of my issues - I can see where stimulants of any kind can trigger that - but coffee? LOL Say it ain't so... : )
I drink coffee all day long, but that first morning cup...ahhh..Heaven !

Sometimes, a pot and a half.
On rare occasions, I don't have any.
I like a 'wake up' cup in the morning. (A BIG cup.)
Coffee doesn't seem to have much of an effect on me.
Unless I quit drinking it altogether for a long time.
I quit for over a year once, and when I had that first cup after doing that, I felt like I took speed, LOL!!!!
After a few days of drinking it again, that feeling went away (darn it.)
I used to have to not drink it after 4:00 pm, or else I wouldn't sleep.
Now, I can drink it all day long, right up till my bedtime and it doesn't matter, I suppose because of my meds.
yes I drink it..no, it doesn't make me manic..counteracts sedation from heavy dose of mood stabiliser (tegretol)..plus I just love it.
