I was hit once by one man.
After that one fight, cause we both kick each others' a**, I kept getting up like a crazy boxing movie-I thought I could never be with him again.
I did get back with him for two months but I knew I didn't want a life time of abuse. I had seen men beat women like they are men and I didn't want to be a part of it. I broke up with that guy that hit me that time.
I used that memory of him hitting me to keep myself from going back to him ever again. I loved him, but for once in my life I knew I had to love myself more. I had to walk and keep walking.
That was over twenty years ago. Yeah I still wonder where he is sometimes, but I am happy I walked. I wouldn't have wanted physical abuse to ever happen again.
A matter of fact, I used that fight for future boyfriends. I told guys I wasn't going to hit them. I told them if they ever hit me they better be prepared to kill me because I would fight to the death of me. Again kind of like those boxing movies where the person keeps getting up.
So long story short-I'm guessing you may still have some feelings for him. You may want to do as I did and use the memory of him hurting you to distance yourself from the love you still have. It is possible to pull away.
I'm sorry and Good Luck,
Tamara
