I am 30 years old and attempting to pursue a career as a Psychiatrist.. Doing the math I could be 50 by the time I can call myself one. But this is why I'm doing so.... I love to help others and I am doing what I can to remember that there is no higher purpose in life than service towards others. I also strongly feel that one flaw in the medical staff out there is the lack of Empathy. I strive to be a Pdoc so I can prescribe with proper dosage in mind know what it's like to be over killed on meds. I am calling to you, the 25 and under crowd, to seriously consider the same. Help your fellow Bpers as well as our Schizoid cousins in empathetic medical care. You don't need to be a Pdoc. Be a counselor, a therapist/psychologist, a RN, anything but do what you can to help your fellow sufferers of all mental disorder through empathy..

Going back to school is a very good thing, it won't cure BD, but it will help the individual.
As he put it, getting a degree does something to the person. It changes them for the good, not bad.
As you can tell I listened to him like I listened to other people. I gave it my personal battlecry....I said F### it.
