Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
She had to go to a year of pre-counseling , to prepare her for living a VERY different life style .
There are HUGE changes in the way you eat.
NO POPCORN
NO CORN , because it's hard to digest.
Only a few Oz's of food at each meal.
Much of her diet consists of a liquid diet plus vitamin supplements .
Another person I know had a slightly different WLS...she gained all her old weight back with in 3 years
It takes a HUGE commitment to do this
I wish you all the luck !
I'm wondering more about any challenges related to meds and/or BP issues. As an example, when I get real low and/or depressed I feel compelled to eat, though I think this is more of a comfort food/food addiction sort of problem and not BP. Though I think the BP causes me to get low more often and/or stay there longer than most people.
So, people don't deal with issues and habits - all the class are cool and your excited, hopeful, etc, etc...
After surgery - it does not take long to stretch the stomach if your eating habits are not correct and managed before. I had a beeper friend who lost 120lbs in like 4 or 5 months - and before the year was out, she had gain 150 - she could not stop comfort eating..
I think the surgery is a great too - but nothing is easy, and eating right and working out - for me, I would try the whole program before the surgery! If you can't hang with the menus and requirement - getting cut, sewn and sabataged - to me, would cause severe depression with the failure/looser words (always attacking my brain!!!)
I wish you much success with what ever you do - but without the displine the surgery is will not fix our problems, habits or self confidence.
I have never dieted - self reward, life sucks I deserve what I want, life is unfair, why not munch - I broke 200, meds, munching, late night is my demon. I can go all day not eating - LOL start at dark, and midnight - might be a bag of chips in the pantry....
I did the low carb and lost 50lbs in like 4 months - I knew the low carb would work for me - because emptying the house of sugar, bread - and eating all the cheese, meat, eggs, butter! My God everything taste good with butter. So it was unlimited... I've gained 10 back, because I started eating chips at night...
So my NEW plan - is to have lots of color on my plate - veggies, fruits - if your/my plate is beige - LOL, not good....
