Does any one else fin a problem with chomipramine and sexual issues? I am a guy and well they give it too guys who suffer with PJ. I dont so its is causing issues for me. Its a good anti dee but when i syopped taking it i didnt have problems any more with sex but now i hv started taking it it causes problems in that department.

Many AD's cause sexual side effects. I don't know about this particular one. But that's a miserable life to live so perhaps you can ask your pdoc if you can switch to something else. Unfortunately it's basically trial and error till you find one that works without the unpleasant side effect.

AAGGHH

Sexual side effects are common with many bipolar meds.
Anti-depressants
Anti-psychotics
Mood stabilizers.

Unfortunately , sometimes you just can't get around that problem if you want to maintain stability

Pdoc's do not often take this into consideration, all they want is to see their patient stable

Yeah dd, you're right. I'm thinking of mentioning my lack of sexual drive to my doc next time I see him. This has gone on long enough.
But I'm embarrassed.

So many ADs and APs cause sexual side-effects. I am not familiar with the med that you are on, but ALL of my meds say "decreased libido" as a side effect. Sucks, doesn't it???

I believe an orgasm is the BEST mood med you can take. My meds used to make it impossible for me so I talked with my pdoc. unfortunate side effect is now I need sex everyday! lol
