I was sober for ten years up until last year! It started out as a fun night for me and my partner. we don't have much money to go out on the town so we drank on the weekends. then her daughter came to live with us. shes 21 has no car no job and is a heroine addict, she stays up all night and sleeps all day. has friend over all hours of the night. my partner and I never fought until she came to stay with us. ive thrown her out many times and her mom keeps giving chances. so I began to drink more often, spending all my money. haven't have one of my meds since Janurary because I cant afford to pay for it. I am very depressed now and just want to stop drinking and get back on my meds. im not sleeping if I don't drink. im not suicidal but I just hate my life right now. I know I must make changes for things to get better but im in this rut. I just don't want to get out of bed. my partners son is getting marries in two weeks and I don't even want to go.

I think you already know the answers...the daughter needs to go.
Try to get back on track with your meds and find some peace in your home again
Best of luck
Your partner is enabling her daughter to stay a heroin addict by allowing her to stay, sleep all day and stay up all night etc.. She's not helping her daughter she's crippling her
Would you need to go into a detox centre to stop alcohol madiwag?...If you don't you could talk with your doctor or simply reach out to meetings... Perhaps your partner would be helped by Al Anon
You can watch some episodes of Intervention if you're interested on Youtube... It really is a wonderful program... There is good help to be had for addiction... Big hug for you madi and a blessing...xo
You need to think of yourself right now - get yourself into a healthy space or make your space healthy. You need to be back on meds, on a good sleep cycle, happy with your partner and financially more secure than you are right now. For your sake, and for your partnership's sake, assert yourself and implement change.
SunCloud is right about a detox center - or if you think this is something you can do outside of detox but maybe with meetings - it's time. This is the most important thing you can do for you AND for your partner. And your partner really needs to let go of her daughter and say "enough is enough".
I wish you so well - it's terribly hard where you are right now and imagine that it can only get better. You'll have a different attitude about your partner's son's wedding if you change the circumstances surrounding it.
Of course you feel awful right now -- but it can and will get better if you work on it! Sending loving hugs your way - you CAN do this!
