Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Just to clarify, I am BP2 and he is BP1 except he is in denial.
I think it is very helpful to share info. I might just be a little careful about journals. Sometimes we write things that we are feeling at the time but we dont really mean them.
Good Luck!!
He has read several books and meets with my Psychologist and Pdoc. I am blessed. He has even said if this is me now then I accept it, even if I dont go back to the other Monica.
He is happy I have my sense of humor and goofyness back.
the last relationship I was in... he was the "man knows best" type and thought that this was something that I could positively will away and I didn't need meds. when I was having an episode he would say something like "just relax" or some other cliche thing. and I would want to punch him. he didn't get me.
on the flip side, my best friend, who is male, lives all the way over in Idaho, and he gets me perfectly. he gets the disorder and how it shoes up in me and in my case he knows it is mostly chemical. I know it's possible for someone, of the opposite sex, to "get" me. it's a good feeling... having someone in my life who I can turn to, even if we don't talk every day, and knowing that it is possible for someone to get me that way.
...and my family wouldn't get caught reading this for anything, and wouldn't understand it if they did.
