I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

It manifets as psycological problems .
Every one experiences their bipolar in different ways .
BP I
BP II
there are levels of severity.
Only a qualified psyciatrist can diagnose you.
Depression is living in the Abyss
Hypomania can be fun, or just miserable.
Mania can be super fun..until it goes unchecked , and escalates into psycosis.
Bipolar is a serious condition, and needs to be monitered by seeing a psychiatrist , and getting on meds.
Some people do quite well, live almost normal lives, work etc..
Others are shut aways and live a life of paralizing anxiety
But you're not really hungry.
Sleep isn't necessary and if I really tried, I could get 2, maybe 3, hours and start again.
I've experienced it where everything submits itself to my dominion.
I feel so powerful, with my words, and looks.
It turns orange and spiky but it's still phenomenal, just a little changed; people become slightly threatening and sinister.
Then (on one occasion for me) everything went dark. I did some illegal things and took off my clothes in a very crowded hotel. What is it with BPers? I've heard so many of us disrobing in public.
I can't really say what hypomania is, precisely. I suppose that's when I feel really productive, pleasant (but not super happy), lots of plans, lots of ideas, lots of confidence. I know, like when manic, that I am different from others, I believe that I am better, almost more evolved.
Then the dirty hypomania is this relentless anxiety and agitation, restlessness. It feels like a roll of attic insulation is put into my upper lungs and breathing is a chore, and I want to move constantly, and my head is just this mess of thoughts and fears and worries, and I'm not sleeping.
Depression. Yeah, just crap.
Read An Unquiet Mind or many other 1st-hand accounts. good info.
My ups are pretty good. I even start to feel like I could work. And I'd really like to because I have a lot to offer.
But my downs are so bad that I can barely get out of bed.
I might have some normal times but I'm not sure about it.

The problem is there is a discontinuity of experience.
I know what it is like to feel energised. But hypomania is something beyond that. Mania further again.
I've seen a couple of what might look like poetic replies. I was going to say that hypomania feels like being a comet made of ants.
The point is language breaks down.
I applaude your intention not to simply apply your own interpretation of the cramped expression of bipolar to others. I wish others had more restraint.
