Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Some screw-ups could be traced to BP, but not all of them. Mania was my big problem and depression has never been the cause, at least in my experience. Proper treatment has done me a world of good.
I don't think it matters the reason sweetie... Hopefully if you're unwell you seek medical attention

Starting with a manic / escalated psychotic episode
2. I was wild, seeking the wrong attention, running away, depressed in the mist.....I have made a lot of irrational decisions and honestly I couldn't tell you if it was because of my bipolar or my own stupidity either way I screwed up regardless.
i have the anti-answer: one of the BEST things that has come from a manic episode was meeting my husband 10 years ago. Were it not for my mania, I wouldn't be running around in a bikini flirting with every guy I met - some women too - and I met this shining eyed little wee thing, my now step-son - floating in the swimming pool on his dad's lap. The little one invited me to play, we had fun, I met his daddy, we fell in love and its been wonderful ever since - lol - on more days than not. When the mania stopped, I had to reintroduce myself to my husband and he STILL LIKED ME. A good story.
