Being hypersexual because Manic Depression

Ever since I started going through this, my sex drive has been Topsy turvy. From not caring to just wanting everything. Has anyone else gone through this? I didn't bring it up with the doc yet. I've seen a few other posts, but is it common?

That's a common situation that occurs in mania. Mania can be controlled. I use lithium and it works fine and doesn't diminish normal sexuality. Being MI is bad enough without all these compulsions getting in the way.

I became hypersexual during mania to. I was taking lithium but now I take saphris and it is working pretty good.

Hypersexuality is very common.

Don't be afraid to to talk to your Pdoc about it...they have heard it all anyway, and by talking about it, you'll get better treatment

I've separated my sexuality issues from this disorder... I feel like a sex addict so I go to SAA.

I can go from not wanting to wanting everything, but I have some deep seeded sexual stuff and feel a lot of my problems with sex stuff comes from over-indulgence in teen/early twenty years. I'm sure if I'd be perfectly normal in the head I'd still have this addiction...
