Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
My ex-fiance told me that I was pretty much too fucked up to be caring for animals let alone children.
(((((HUGS))))
As far as having children I knew at a young age that I would have children, I grew up in such a abusive family I am afraid that I would pass those bad genes on.
I am also a very selfish person and have a hard enough time with my own life and in no way able to raise a child.
So far my son doesn't show any signs of bp and even though he has some problems of his own he's quite well rounded.
Worst mistake they ever made. Now they have a son whose head so screwed up he can't work and is on disability. Then, they have the nerve to bitch me out for not having a job (dad) and drinking (dad, mom).
My sister somehow hasn't shared as awful a fate, but she's an unpleasant bitch to me every time I see her - dramatic attitude always.
So, yea. Never would I have kids.
I wouldn't trade them for anything. I am also teaching them the coping skills that I have been learning to deal with my bi-polar disorder. By taking a pro-active role in managing my disability, I am teaching them tools to deal with the possibility if they should ever get it. So far they aren't showing any signs. Lord willing this is not something they will ever have to deal with in their lives.
