Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
i am reallllly feeling anxious. Like what if I do something to embarrass myself at my new job? Like what if I start acting or talking inappropriately (like basically losing control)? Or what if I blow it? What if I FAIL again? I am trying SOOO hard to put the failed job experiences in the past and put them out of my head, but it is hard. If I lose yet ANOTHER job, I don’t know what I will do.
I am very anxious about my dad, too we are waiting to hear about his test results
i am just scared
also, I am no longer on any benzodiazepines! I have been completely off from them for about two weeks. Maybe that is why I am having irrational anxiety?
Has as anyone else ever have a fear of losing control in public like this? Or am I a freak?!!

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Just try and meditate. Try and remain loose, talk but maybe dont talk about everything right away. Listening is sometimes better than talking :-) I do have that fear of losing control in public though. So I can feel ya.
Good luck. It's a new start!
2 weeks is not a long time to be off benzo's, so you probably have some wd issues still happening, you need to give yourself time to let your system completely adjust to not needing those chemicals. Depending on how long/often you took them, benzo's can take 4-6 weeks for your body/brain to fully adjust and reset without them.
The "positive thoughts" thing that people tend to say...it does help. Using deep breathing exercises in the morning, before you get dressed, maybe before you get out of bed, add some relaxation exercises with an inner self message of "I am good at my job, I'll be fine, I'll only worry about what I can control"...starting your day out peacefully with a "calming routine" can be just as beneficial for the anxiety as ending your day peacefully is to sleeping well.
"Put yourself in a calm, positive place" sounds a helluva lot easier than actually doing, but if you work on it and give yourself that starting point in the morning, it can help.
Take care,
It’s important to reframe thoughts into positive ones, into ‘can do’ mentalities and not retreat into thinking about prior situations, otherwise these feelings will keep repeating themselves and manifest all over again.
What are your strongest skills? What are you best at and most efficient? Also what are the most challenging aspects at the job, and can you be real about that when the time comes with a manager and improve upon those skills? For me, it helps to break down the big overwhelming thoughts into smaller components to reflect on. Make a list and remember no human being is good at everything....don’t be so hard on yourself and focus on the strengths you do have.
Keep going!
Don't come back
I see a few of them you are doing in your post. I’m a big catasteophizer too. And fortune telling
