Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

My bipolar disorder makes me feel paranoid. A lot of times I have paranoia that people are talking about me behind my back. And that includes family members. I also deal with a lot of social anxiety because of bullying way back when I attended School. So sometimes I wonder if that's not part of it. Also when I'm out in public if I see a group of people laughing and talking. I will also assume they could be laughing and talking about me. And that thought will enter my head. I guess I'm just wondering if this could be a bipolar disorder related thing or if it would more so be my social anxiety.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I agree that it could be either or..... If paranoia effects you a lot though I would discuss it with your psychiatrist..... A med tweak might help
Big hug......xo
There are self guided coping skills and relaxation/centering exercises you can learn and do to help with the paranoia. Mindfulness exercises also help to keep you grounded in what's real and "now'.
Take care.
Its curious the way you say your husband is BiPolar and you have Manic Depression. You do know these are the same thing right? Manic Depression is just an older terminology for BiPolar Disorder....
I've never been diagnosed with social anxiety, but I do have general anxiety so I guess that could be the possible cause.
My extreme paranoia is only in mixed states, and its very intense.
