How did I do it? Easy I was nervous about squeezing my car's fat ass into a parking spot, got out to look and because I have a habit of locking my car every time I locked it with the car on! At first I thought I had turned the car off and had the keys but I heard the engine running!
Sure enough I had done it!
No worries after about 20 mins of my neighbor fiddling with the car I mentioned I had a spare key in the house if he had a ladder. I live on the second floor and as it happens my window was unlocked. He got up their some how and let me in my own house. I found the key and via la!
I'm still in a good mood even though I just went through that. And my kitchen is clean and laundry is done.
Actually I think the stress relief from finding my key actually helped all my other stress go away.

My problems is the house. I lock myself out all the time. That's why I have a key hidden outside.
i used to be a pro at locking the keys in the car, not running, that i can recall. now i turn off the car and immediately put the keys in my purse and before i lock door, i check purse again. got sick of waiting for AAA they are slow around here.

I had to walk to a hotel, and see if there was a policeman that would help me. He asked if I was drunk, and I assured him I was not. I had just driven 4 hours from my home to Columbus, and then from Columbus to Pittsburgh.
He was a gruff older cop, and when we got in his squad car, "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry was playing. I just think that's hilarious, for some reason. He got my car unlocked, and we were on our merry way.
I've done it lots of times, but that was one of the dorkiest stories.
Yeah I feel lame for locking my keys in my car. I do it so many times it isn't funny any more. I have several spare keys just that they don't do me any good when I lose them or misplace them. I use to have a spare in my purse but I lost it. Luckily I had a back up key in my house. I will be making more keys tomorrow.
I usually take my purse with me as a habit so having a spare in my purse has saved me in the past.
Good thing you were able to get yours back
As for the house, we have a number code to open the garage door. So I don't need keys unless the garage door breaks. Trouble is, we've had the same code for years, and even my aging mom remembers it. Easy access, come one, come all and take what you please!
A year or so ago the 99 Cent Store sold slim jims. Yep those needed for breaking into cars. I couldn't believe it. I almost bought one but knew it would be stuck in my car along with the keys and that wouldn't help a bit.
It was so scarey.

I duct tape apartment key and car key to my back license plate. Not one of those magnet type. Of course in your case you wouldnt want your namehood to know that!!!!
