I pretty much had an anxiety attack in my t doc's office today. I felt like I was going to start hyperventilating. I managed to take deep breaths and calm down. I felt fine when I left. That's never happened to me before in that environment. She said I had a bunch of anger built up inside and when I got it all out during my session that's why the anxiety subsided. So frustrating. I thought her office was my safe place.

I think if you're going to have an anxiety attack outside of your home, tdoc's office would be a good place.... it esp makes sense bc of all of the emotions processed there and vulnerability we allow ourselves to have. Try not to look at it as the loss of a safe place. The way I see it, you simply *used* a safe place... ((hugs))

I agree with sadie...maybe your tdoc is a safe place...even though you felt out of control... Sorry about that, having those emotions is tough, I know. x

I've been through that as well and I was very upset because it is my safe place but my therapist helped me understand it is part of the process. Sadie said it well. Hugs!

It happened to me once too. Only thing is I couldn't breathe and they called for an ambulance where they gave me Ativan. I was not happy for the ambulance bill, but I was happy that it happened in a safe place which will always be a safe place for me. Better than having a panic attack at home alone. I'm sorry that happened to you.. Big hugs!

Big hug for you sweetie.. Panic attacks are awful.... I remind myself that I'm going to be okay and that this will end soon... It's good your tdoc was there to help you through it...xo

I'm sorry you experienced a panic attack. I unexpectedly had one one day in therapy and felt the same way you are feeling....like I had thoughts it was no longer refuge. But it hasn't happened again. (((hugs)))

Thanks for the replies and comments. I really appreciate them. I really do need to go to back to journaling everyday like my t doc suggests. It make sense that that could help relieve some built up anger and anxiety.

Sorry you experienced that. Hugs.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
