Does anyone take both a mood stabilizer and an antipsychotic?
If I take depakote for migraines and seroquel for depression it seems like I'd be doubling up on 2 meds used for bi polar.

In fact, just taking one with out the other may lead to more episodes.
Consider , a mood stabilizer does just that....it stabilizes your moods.
An antipsychotic controls psychosis
So yep...taking both sounds about right to me
Depakote is an anti-seizure medication. But it's also been found to prevent migraines, and treat bipolar depression, and approved by the FDA for those uses as well, so it can be prescribed for those reasons, although the dosing may be different depending on what is being treated.
Seroquel is mainly used by psychiatrists, but it can address a few different things. I was on it for obsessive compulsive anxiety, and to help me fall asleep. You are on it for depression. Some people take it to control psychosis. Again, there may be dosage differences.
