I know alot of people including myself that are going through weight gains....I feel your pain and struggle with this one myself. My ablify increased and so did the size of my ass!! *chuckle*

I try to love the body that I'm in and do what I can to keep it as healthy as it goes through changes, whatever they may be!! Find things that make you feel good...walking, riding, yoga, hikes, it doesnt' have to be an all mighty type work out just keep yourself moving!!

You don't laugh or cry about it. You just do what you got to do. I feel better (and look better) when my clothes fit. Thats why I have three sets of clothes.

Yesterday I squeezed by a lady when I was shopping. She said, "You don't need much room, you are such a small person." Whoa!!!!! I guess I carry it well - all ass and boobs - but I don't want to carry it at all.

I am okay if I dont see myself in a reflection or a mirror. If I do then I am heading for my car (If I am out) to get on the freeway and drive nasty and bad and try to kill myself acidently. If I am at home I line the pills up on the divider and look at them.

HI! I am with you on this.
I am a size 24 right now and trying to find clothes is haunting.
I am starting to loose weight but my doc said it is one of the meds I am on and if this continues that I may be taken off of it.
I hope he is right and that I can go off this med.
I tried to take it during the day but then I was higher than a kite.
so I now take it at night but that doesn't help with the food issues.
I have to eat every 3-4 hours and some times decisions on what to eat isn't easy.

I just started to go off my anti-psychs and the lbs. are dropping off everyday. I had to start shopping in the plus size section and it was to big and the regualar sizes were to small...so I only bought a few items till I lost the weight. I have lost a total of 19 lbs so far.....

I've been up and I've been down. Always in the plus sizes but the lower end of the plus sizes sure feels better than the higher end of plus. My pdoc tells me that all my meds are weight neutral but I don't believe it. There has to be one or a combo of meds that is putting all this weight on me. I even started Weight Watchers and wasn't able to do that. How pathetic is that??? I'm with you . Lane Bryant here we come.

It's tough for sure... the only thing that really helps me in not having the fattening stuff around.. if it's here I eat it... I have big junk for cravings and I do treat myself once and a while... I find cereal filling... so I often use that as a snack
Have you talked to your doc about this?.. could there be an alternative med or are you interested in trying another?.. then we get into something else again..

I put on 60 lbs from 2009 to present. I went from being a size 3 to a size 16. I know its my meds and if I go off them I will be unstable and I don't want that. So, I chalk it up to the meds. I tried Weight Watchers but I only lost five lbs in two months and it wasn't worth the effort. As long as I am on medication, I will be shopping in the plus size section. I just try to cope with it as best as possible. My hubby loves me the way I am, and thats all that matters. He's a big pudgy from being on celexa and Abilify. He's lost 20 lbs but that is due to being on chemotherapy. I try to lose weight, but it doesn't budge.

I gained about 100 lbs in a couple years as soon as I started taking Depakote. That's about a pound a week. It was alarming. I'm a size 20 now and I hate it. I was always very thin. That being said, I tried not taking the Depakote. Bad things happened. I have to take it and that's all there is to it. I'd rather be fat and sane (somewhat). My doc said its safer for me to be overweight. I work really hard to find clothes that are stylish and camoflauge the lumps I have in the wrong places.

I'm just the right size but am unfortunate enough to have nothing but defective mirrors in my house. I guess it's hard to get mirrors that work correctly because even the ones I catch sight of myself in while out in public aren't working right!!!

Thank God I don't really look like that!!!!

I find that clothes are all mislabeled, too. I'm obviously six or eight sizes smaller than what the tags read.

As to how to react, laugh when you're a good kind of hyper, cry when you're in the throes of depression and laugh with tears running down your face when you are in a mixed state!!!!

Good luck losing!!!! I just went on Zyprexa which is supposed to be a weight gainer. So far, I have managed to lose a few pounds while on it.
But I'm doing it by living on salads with a bit of protein (chicken) thrown in and it's getting pretty old.

We'll see who wins the battle!!! Me?! Or Zyprexa!!!!

it is the meds for sure.and the way i see it is if you are feeling good in your head and functioning.you are good.the weight sucks it truly does and society and men (sorry) are cruel and do treat you differently.everything is harder for me much more isolation.i bailed out of family and friend parties beach pool.bc i am so vain. but even w all the weight i was still severely depressed so..... that was a suicide mission for me. it is absolutely the antipsychotics.when we discovered all the antipsychotics made me sicker and i needed antidepressants mood stabilzer and antianxiety i began to lose weight. last summer i was over 200lbs i stopped weighing myself and got in bed. i last bought size 16 and some did not fit.between all the sleep sleeping so much i didnt eat being so depressed i hoped not eating would cause me to die. no exercise at all couldnt. but the key no anti psychotics.stopped gaining slow losing maybe to14.than stopped lithium slow size 12 started topamax only 100 when my md wanted 200mg from may until july 130's size 8 havent been siz 8 in 15 years.now without going off topamax bc it keeps mania away do i stop from losing any more i am eating as much as i can i am full.i want to run but i dont want to lose!
