Another med freak out

I really wish I wasn't so scared of new meds. My cardiologist prescribed midodrine yesterday to help keep my blood pressure up. I asked if I could take it with trazodone and he said no problem. Of course I just looked it up on line because I'm paranoid and that's what I do and it says not to take the two together.

So basically before I take it I'm going to call his nurse and ask for reassurance and explain what I read online and also call my pharmacy. Being paranoid and living in fear really sucks sometimes. Ugh.

Calling your pharmacy to double check is NOT being paranoid. My husband was prescribed oral steroids a week before he was planning on getting a corticosteroid shot in his back. The doctor said taking steroids and then getting the shot is no problem. WOW - when I called the Pain Center where he gets his shots, they told me if he took the steroids it would be 4-6 weeks before he could have the shot. Knowing the shot was more reliable (as he has had it before), he skipped the steroids. I even called the doc who prescribed them and let him know about this dangerous interaction. GO ASK QUESTIONS!

It doesn't sound paranoid to me either.

It may be a dosage level thing but it's better to check

I like to double check to, but I also tend to get parenoid too. but humans can make mistakes, and you ahve to deal with the side effects so in this case, it might not be that awful to have a little bit of it. in most cases it is an awful thing. better safe than sorry

I would check with your PRN to see if anything will not mix well with your cardio Doctor.

As others have said, you are not being paranoid - we've got to look out for ourselves.

    Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner.  I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings.  But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
