I always feel so worthless. I feel more in the way then helpful. All I ever do is stay at home. I can't work. I don't even like to go for walks with my mom but I still do at least 4 times a week. That only keeps my busy for 20 minutes. But my bills just sit around. I can't pay them. I feel as though I can't do anything. I don't like to do anything in less it involves leaving the house for like shopping or something. I do play games with my mom though. That distracts my brain from thinking about such bad things. I sometimes wonder if my life is worth it. I am so lonely. I live with my parents right now. Sometimes I feel like such a loser because I live at home and can't even work. I can't work because of my schizzo affective disorder. I don't have any friends left. I lost the only one I had because I was cutting myself. Sometimes I still get mad because she abandoned my during my greatest time of need. It has been quite a while since I cut myself though. My newer medication has been helping a little with that.

I can totally relate to what your saying, most of the time I dont wanna leave the house and most definetly dont wanna be around other people..well I have decided that things are gonna change, I recently married a great man that I have know for years and he is so very supportive and gives me everything that I need, I'm at a point right now that I have stayed home and been the loyal little housewife for the last few months since we have been married and I'm bored out of my mind,, you can only clean house so much, lol..I'm gonna get a part time job and make some new friends and have a life outside the house, I think that will be just what I need, I have worked my whole life in management jobs that were majorly stressful until I became ill, I was diagnosed manic and bipolar 2 years ago when I attempted suicide when my kids were taken from me by my exhusband..so I am gonna find a normal everyday job that has little to no stress..I think it will make a world of a difference for me, maybe you should think about doing the same, find a new reason to live for and enjoy the hand that we have been dealt..its time to make the best of it..good luck, I will pray for you

I can relate. It doesn't fix it but it is true that these thoughts are very common to most people who have depression. I think isolation is one of the hardest symptoms. Our depression makes us feel unworthy and distant from others. We get more lonely, then more depressed, then more isolated. It's an ugly downward cycle. I've been forcing myself to go to a DBSA support group. There I can be in the presence of others to get some social interaction and not feel at all obligated to make small talk or answer any questions that come up often in many situations with people who don't know what it's like to be depressed. Try to be gentle on yourself. You are worth it. Keep doing positive things for yourself. Let joy and beauty seep in through any tiny crack you can find. : )
