I don't think you are overreacting
I like my doc now. He is male but he is caring and treats me like a real person. Hes not always perfect though it seems that any ailment I have he relates to my being obese. Even when I had an ear ache! But he has helped emensly with my depression and my weight loss in the past.
Something I have learned thru all my years and all my doctors is you are paying them to help you. So you have to speak up for yourself and what needs you have at that time. Its just like speaking up about bad service at a restaurant excapt this is your health your talkin about. Hope you find a doctor that you like.
Over a month ago my right calf had been sore but one night I bent over to pick up my dog and I felt a snap in my right calf. Thought I was going to pass out and got scared it was a traveling blood clot. So..
went to the ER, told them I wanted to rule out a blood clot. They took all this blood and some extra the girl said in case the Dr. wanted more tests they wouldn't have to stick me again.
So I tell the nurse I have bp when she asks for other health problems. She never once asked me what meds I was on. Shortly after the doc came back in holding a script for pain meds and muscle relaxants and was just wanting me to leave without finding out why I hurt.
I asked them if my blood test came back negative for a blood clot and they were like "Oh, did you want that tested!" I said that's what I thought you were taking all the blood for! She said well, we will run it so it took an extra hour sitting there waiting on results. Thank goodness it was negative for a blood clot.
Anyways, I don't know what's going on in healthcare today since that visit to the ER. My other two docs are great.
