I feel like crap.
I was laying down trying to go to sleep and each time i did. i "heard" things.
Like different voices that i couldnt tell what they were saying, and noises.... like snapping and tapping.... I KNOW no one else could hear them. But they sounded like they were on the outside of my head. I am so terrified over this. Ive been terrified for the last few weeks about being schizophrenic and now hearing these things, my anxiety shot right up and i can go back to sleep. Its only when i lay down and close my eyes. I dont have them right now or anything...... I am so afraid. I feel like dying. I do not want to be schizophrenic... I just want to go to sleep... :( GOD HELP ME..... someone please talk to me, im afraid. I do have PTSD so i dont know if that has anything to do with this.... but im soooo afraid....... kill me now :(
I know i posted this in the crisis center....i just really need someone to talk to.....

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

Perhaps it might be good if someone could stay with you during your bad time. If you need to go to the hospital, go, but if you think that you can hold on with the help of a friend who can temporarily stay with you, then do that. Then, call the local Mental Health Clinic and see if they can see you before the holidays.
_________
If you can have that friend stay with you and if you are strong enough to hold on, I would spend the weekend with comforting things like hot scented baths, warm candles, soft music, non-caffinated hot tea, a small snack of cookies, chocolate, fruit (strawberries are good)-little stuff like that--reading the Bible if you like it-stuff like Psalm 23 and 91. (Avoid scriptures that are negative in nature).
LOTS OF ENYA
LOTS OF LOREENA MCKENNITT
LOTS OF ANNIE LENNOX
Get a friend to pick out heart warming, positive movies to watch. The weekend should be filled with soft rituals and routines which are geared towards relaxation and enjoyment. Busying stuff like coloring pages that depict scenes from modern painters (which can be googled and printed from the net), crochet, sewing, simple crafts) will help pass the time and make you feel better.
The focus is mainly on comforting and soothing the self.

Later down the road, you and the therapist can try and focus in on the messages that the subconscious is sending through the voices. Some folks get medicine to quell some of the symptoms and then learn to talk their voices DOWN. Other folks try figure out the traumatic issues of their childhood and do theraputic work on those issues. Some people do both.........
I have had many friends and acquaintences with schitzo or schizophrenia. Sometimes, the hearing of voices can start from a PTSD trigger. Perhaps you could research the PTSD aspects of hearing voices when you feel up to it...
In any case, do not give up.

PS: This computer...grr..I almost lost my post!! :(
I don't think if you have schizophrenia you get terriefied you might have it. You are not aware that your thoughts are disordered.
if it persists, then you will need to see a doctor, there is no other way of trying to resolve it.
oh, and if you hear these things as you are actually going to sleep chances are it's a hypnagogic hallucination - it's normal for anyone. It's not a mental illness.
also - are you speaking to others who are going through the same kind of experience?
sending "pink hugs" through the digital wasteland ...
Worrying about the noises will make them worse. I've had this happen to me quite often and it always seems to be due to anxiety.
Try your best to make yourself calm. Listen to music, have a bath, have something to eat, watch television. Anything you can do to keep yourself calm will help. This will pass.
