These medications have improved my life so much, however I still have bad days which are a detriment to my life, and when it's bad it's bad on a scale of epic proportions. I'm self-injury prone and struggle with suicidal tendancies, though it's been months since a self-inflicted wound or a suicide attempt.
I'm on Suboxone Therapy as well.
I just can't stand the pain sometimes, though. I just want my thought processes to stop, all 8 or so negative trains going at once. I'm starting to get back to where I used to be, mentally. Not a comforting nostalgia. To put it to scale, 100mg Trazodone, 20mg Ambien, and the combo I'm on now, NOTHING can stop my negative thought processes once they start, when all I want to do is quit thinking, given the situation.
It's not a matter of frequency, it's more so when Depression and/or Mania do strike.
What do you recommend/what meds and med combos have worked for you?
I'm Pro-medicinal Marijuana although I don't smoke, and haven't in a year or more. I've seen the lives it's saved first-hand and that's looking like a wonderful option, however the state I most currently reside in does not allow for such accomodations.
ALSO if you've never heard of Kratom or Blue Lotus I would highly recommend looking into them. I'm very much pro-herbs, however just as organic food [or as our elders called it, food. lol] comes with a deluxe price tag, so does the stuff on the natural side of the continuum of medicine. And unfortunately insurance does not offer coverage for most of those.
I have ADD, minor OCD, severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder [in remission for the most part, I only have anxiety attacks when I feel sick away from home], a former chemical dependancy and Chronic Pain as well. If you have any of those Kratom or Lotus may be able to help you if you can afford it. /:

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

Maybe try and get some proper meds?
Have you tried a mood stabilizer, lithium, lamotrigine or valproate?
I've never been on Lithium or any other mood stabaliser, but I've been on every antidepressant under the sun, Paxil [that was a catastrophic and vitriolic experience], Zoloft, Wellbutrin, Celexa, Prozac. Antidepressants, I stay the hell away from unless there's a secondary effect that outweighs the primary, subjectively.
A couple of my other doctors have been right flabberghasted that I take the particular concoction that I do.
I've noticed gradual improvement with each drug added, first the Buspar in 20, then upped to 40, then the Seroquel.
but with each drug the dynamic of the gross benefits that I reap changes slightly.
I just have these rather "downslides" after a period of time in which a new drug is added to my regimen.
I think the true mood stabilizers are lithium, valproate and lamotrigine. All are now generic.
I've been noticing the trend is now to put people on an antipsychotic and anti-depressant and alot of those people don't seem to be happy on them.
I don't get on with anti-depressants either generally - even if I'm on a mood stabilizer.
I'm on lamotrigine which acts as a mood stabilizer, particularly on the depression side. I have seroquel that I then take if I think things are getting out of hand.
