Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

It's been a year since my first therapy session. I still remember how hard it was for me to go in. I used to sit for hours in the lobby of the health centre, too scared to make an appt, too scared to go home. And the 'screening'. Oh boy, I was a sobbing little mess, blubbering all over the doc's office. Lol. Memories. I think I've made real progress since. Therapy isn't as scary, I no longer skip my sessions and I've only cried twice during therapy. Go me. Most importantly, I now have a regime. I have my therapy, my strict timetable and my prns. I now know my triggers so I can try to avoid them and I'm better able to handle some of my mood swings. The only downside is that after a year I still don't have a set diagnosis. Cyclothymia, BPD or co-morbidity. I don't want to end the year without knowing for sure.
Does anybody remember the beginning of their journey? First tdoc/pdoc appt? What pushed you to go? How far have you come? Are you satisfied with the progress you've made?

Mom and I have errands to run this morning. She said we can get sushi for lunch though. I go back to work today. What are you looking forward to this weekend?

Quick, before the evil MONday gets here! Let's climb those mountains, dance in the meadows, dip our feet in the ocean....Okay, so most of us won't be doing any of That. Sadly. But today can still be a great day!The area behind our back fence is on an incline, with less than two feet on even ground at the top. I don't balance well enough for the incline, but our mower guy mows that...

I am so glad you are finding some helpful people along the way, iam. You are right to use the word JOURNEY because it is just that. I eventually found great help...it can take some time. You are a tough cookie! I believe in you!
About you diagnosis if you get copies of your medical records you should be able to see why there is no diagnosis. Unless you are paying out of pocket I think your pdoc has to code your visits to some illness in order to be reimbursed. Good luck in year 2.
So iam, after a year they still don't have a set diagnosis for you? I'm curious, why is that?
You've come along way...you should be proud of yourself :-)
