Let me tell you, sometimes being the crazy one in the house has its ups! My step son(he's 30) lives with us. Last week he accused me of throwing away his dog's frisbee(which I didn't). He then cussed me out and said awful things to me and about me to others. I tried to smooth things over but he refuses to acknowledge my existence. So I figured Johnny boy if you don't want nothing to do with me so be it. I told my husband I would do no more to help my step son. I didn't bother to call for him when dinner was ready, I refused to clean up after him and I hid the laundry soap. He didn't care about dinner and his dad starting cleaning up after him. BUT he had a date last night and guess what, no clean clothes! He freaked out that there was no soap. I informed him rather calmly they sold it at Walmart. He then went on a tirade about my pettiness. The funny thing is I agree with him but he doesn't see his own pettiness in what he has done. My husband asked me to return the soap. I said nope no soap for sonny. We are now engaged in an argument over laundry soap. Maybe it is my warped sense of humor, maybe its my personality disorder or maybe I am just don't give a shit that I have offended Jr. What do you all think? Should I return the soap and be the bigger person or let baby boy go naked?LOL

I feel like in your own home with a grown child, you at the very least deserve respect. your husband should step up and let him know he is grown and both of you are doing him a favor.
when my grown children have to come back home, they know that respect is number one, I have 2 step children also.
They have to provide their own basic cleaning supplies if they are able, or we help till they get on thier feet.
demand respect.

I moved out when I was 18. A man of thirty who doesn't do his own cooking and cleaning, while he's capable of doing so, and on top of that doesn't pitch in to help or even show his appreciation, sounds like a complete wuss to me. You're right to stop doing things for him if he is that way. Though, hiding the soap is petty, and should be below your standards. If he had the soap, he would maybe at least do it himself, which is still a step forwards whereas now you just have more tension.

Hell no, no soap for him. He is 30. You are right the soap is at Walmart, don't let him come in your house a treat you like that, then want something from you. Stand your ground

I think I read a previous post fo yours describing this a-hole, ef it hide the soap do whatever you want and maybe he will move out..Good for you!
