I posted this earlier as "Heavy Metal in Baghdad" however I think most people mis understood the point and didn't bother to watch. The video is a theatrical trailer for a film about the only Heavy metal band in Iraq, a band called Acrassicauda. This film documents there struggles amid fire fights and bombings on a daily basis. They are not able to travel alone because they have been told they will be killed one by one by Muslims who disagree with there version of expression. This film won awards at both the Toronto and Berlin film festivals. Please check this out.

I'm glad I watched...It is a sorry state,where a culture will kill or destroy anything that goes against their radical religious beliefs.

Did you read the book or watch the movie The Kite Runner? It is all about life in Afghanistan and what happens when the Taliban comes in and changes everything. Highly recommend the book, I couldn't put it down. As far as this band,,,,Russian Rulet??

They seem to currently reside in Istanbul Turkey as of now. It seems they have had issue touring outside of the Arab world due to restrictions on Visas. The very reason I want to see them is because of that dedication. Would I risk my neck to see them? Hell yeah! They are risking there neck to put out a good show, if I died going to see a great show, at least it was doing something that means something.

absolutly amazing. its funny that u cant imagine anyone rocking out but the U.S. to think these young men are willing to give up there lives for something as pure as music is so inspiring. its touching on so many levels

Very sadly, I dont think we appreciate how lucky we are! We talk about noticing the small things, yet we ignore the given of things like freedom of expression in music..Ooops! Sorry..I was talking to a yank! lol ..I forgot yr country censors political music..Haha!
But u dont take a bullet in the head for it!
Belief is truly an inner strength and resolve far greater!
