Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Plenty other stuff can happen...but really the whole picture varies from person to person. The branches all have varying interactions.
You have to do it as best you can with your mind as the main jewel to protect.
Meds....no meds...all discussed with a doctor.
So go see the docs ! All the best
the more episodes you have (of mania, particularly) the worse the outcome & level of recovery..
staying on medication & getting enough sleep help immensely
But that's kind of like winning a small lottery pool.
I personally have never known or known of anyone who's experienced that.
Is there any specific reason you think that you might recover within a year?
That's not usually how this illness works, although it might be that with the right meds you will do very well and it may not take a very long time.
But even if you ARE doing well, it's usually recommended that you stay on the medicine. The medicine is probably what is keeping you well.
Some people stop taking their medicine when they feel very stable.
I did that.
Most of the time, you keep doing well for a while -- but then you don't.
I wish you well and hope you do find a way to get well and stay that way.
But as you go through this, you may find that you're going to be in this for the long haul and will have to lower your sights a bit and aim for stability and staying as healthy as you can!!
(((((Hugs)))))
you'll get there.
