Hey yall. I am already on Risperdal 8mg/day. I am wanting to add Seroquel back into my med cocktail as it seems to me to be the last time when I was really stable. I want it to help with anxiety and to help kick these intrusive thoughts in the ass. What do you guys think? I gained thirty five pounds on it before. Can't afford to gain that weight, but can't afford to be this fucked up in the head either. Damned if ya do and damned if yd don't.

To counteract the weight effects, I'm on a small dose of Topomax too. Been working great. I know nothing at all about Risperdal, except that its in the same class as Seroquel, so guessing your doc plans on slowly switching them.
As for anxiety, the Seroquel definitely helps. We forget that this class of drugs were originally called "Major Tranquilizers". And my pdoc put it to me very succintly when he said do you want to feel normal or is skinny more important. That kinda made it obvious which thing had priority.

It's made me put on weight. Truthfully (gees should I be saying this) I'm going to investigate other alternatives with my pdoc on Thursday specifically because of the weight gain - I don't like it. And yet it's been such a good stabilizer for me. Bugger.
