Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am a 34 year old disabled mom of 5 children. I have 3 boys, ages 15, 10, and 6. I also have twin 6 month old girls. My husband and I have been married almost 12 years. I have been diagnosed with Bipolar II, with severe depression. I also have PTSD, GAD with panic and agoraphobia. I have not been dealing with this well. I can barely leave the house. I can't work. I am trying to get SSI, but in the meantime it is difficult to make ends meet on just what my husband makes. I have no energy, and because of that my house is a wreck. I can barely find the energy to put my bra on in the morning or get something to eat before 7pm. My doc has been bouncing me from one medicine to another and it is really making it difficult to function. By the time I get used to one medication, he changes it. So, then I have to withdraw and start getting used to another. And I can't afford therapy and I have agoraphobia to the point that I cannot call to find a therapist I can afford. I could go to one once an appt is set up (might have to sit in the car for a while to get up the nerve to go in....) but I just can't call them! I am so screwed up!

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Glad to know you. Goodness -- you have a lot of kids!! I bet they are the apples of your eye too.
How long have you been diagnosed and working with a pdoc?
What kind of support network do you have in real life? Family? Friends?
I'm glad you found us. This is a very caring, understanding and supportive site. Welcome!
Uncetain why young woman auto start sizing up a guy to be a boyfreind before actually knowing him. before skipping over or moving past infacturation or lust period. It's like they intention put moves on & position them self to be kissed...
Lonely woman & those who having dificulty w mate or just broke up or on the rebound or have mentally illness are easy to play the get to know to score game.
Hold your horse. get pass the newness of possibility of friendship. become friends w him just liken you would a gf. after a yr or longer.then take a look at him as possibility w info little info to u think that u know about him. It take at least 2 yrs to get to know someone. It takes yrs to really get to know someone.
Set high standards. You deserve to take time to c if male meets your standards. to become friends 1st.
However there nothing wrong w having male friend w benifits. as long as u know the rules & keep strickly to rules.
Maybe u 2 can become support buddy's. someone to call n talk w when ea having dificult moment etc...
I have 3 support buddy's. 1 being male. he is a man who men look up to. he is handsome. but I/we won't cross the line & risk our friendship.
other being my dearest friend of 34 yrs. the other being my P-Nurse. who knew & knows about my illness & knows & understands me.
Thank you for not giving into self destruction.Easier said than done.I'm so proud of you for not giving in. U know how hard & how long it takes to recover from self harm/destruction.
You are by far stronger than the illness.
But, I have a really good husband and he helps me alot. The problem is that the 2 best friends that I have always been able to talk to about my "issues" are unreachable right now. My friend Krista's phone is disconnected, and my best friend, Tim is in one of his "unreachable" modes. He does this sometimes. He will just stop talking to everyone for months while he is dealing with his own feelings. He does this from time to time. I just miss him and really need him right now.
I do have a few problems with drinking. Well, my husband doesn't think it is a problem. In order for me to do things that normally cause me to panic (like making phone calls), I will usually have a drink. Not enough to even get a buzz, just enough to relax me enough to get things done. But, when you have to choose between diapers and whiskey...you tend to choose diapers.
Great support and friends to be made here : )
I have phone phobia, too...sometimes, i even stutter, i get so nervous and mixed up.
Feel free to message me or hit me up for a chat if you ever want/need to talk xo
