Anyone every tried this amino acid it suppose to regulate seretonin levels in the brain.

I was allergic to it and it made me manic. Be careful.

I haven't but do your research carefully. Everyone was pushing melatonin for me because I apparently have no natural circadian rhythm? And that was before all the stuff came out about melatonin causing HORRIBLE depression in bipolars... Just cause it's natural doesn't mean it isn't as dangerous as a drug.

Can be good, but not good mix with other AD meds...check wi pdoc...

It Helped I took it with no advice and it seem to really work I'm on heaps on other meds and with no advice i thought i would try it and see if any side effects would occure

but nothing happened it was good..

I have a friend who swears by it, however he's just depressive not bipolar. Their is a difference. I don't take it, I'm afraid of it doing the St. Johns wort thing to me. Thats just for depressives also, it can bring on mania in bi polars.

I was going to purchase some SAM-E and on the side it said in warning DO NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE BIPOLAR..
lol so I stayed away from it.
Most antidepressents can trigger mania esp. the ones with speedy properties like Effexor and Wellbutrin. I had a horriable manic episode from Effexor. So far 5-HTP and Fish Oil seems to be doing me well... But it's to early to tell in 2 more weeks I will give an update...
