A number of antiphychotics can give you night terrors. Im not sure about seroquel but your pharmacist can tell you

It is their job to believe what we report to them!! How dare they not believe!! I don't have what I would call nightmares, but I have deeply disturbing dreams sometimes. Like last night I dreamed of the vague fringes of vampire like people and coffins, but I also dreamed some good things too.

Mark it should be documented as a side effect and I know damned well the pdoc knows
When something works well for the most part they sometimes want to dismiss the side effects that we can bearly tolerate

yeah, it sucks. really sucks. I don't take Seroquel, though. They were giving me some stuff for dreams, but everything they give me for sleep stuff only helps for a few days and then things start to go awry. Fuck sleep. Who needs it? LOL. The stuff for dreams was originally a drug for dudes with prostate problems, but they gave it to vets at the vets hospital for prostate, but of course, many have PTSD from seeing combat, and they started to notice on accident that it helped with the dreams. At least that's what my psych at the time told me. Again, it stopped working on the dreams after a bit. You should have seen my face when he told me that it can cause priapism sometimes. I probably went white. It was a scary thought, LOL.

I was ask by tahem to report all the side effects to them....so I told them that plus it made my hallucinations total freak me out...which they seldom do...Told them it made my eyes hurt and stay beet red all day long too...also told them about the horrid dry mouth....They told me that seroquel doesn't make dreams worse, doesn't make hallucinations more vivid, and it wont affect my eyes.....All of which are reported....It even says on the seroquel warning label and on their web site that it can give some people cataracts...which I didn't know until later when I looked it up...If that isn't affecting my eyes then..........I don't know what eyes are

Yes, that's exactly right, Zany. It's not fun for males or females. It might sound like an adventure, but from what I hear it's more like a nightmare, LOL. Ick! Can you just imagine having to go to the ER for that? I would probably end up with some smartass doctor that didn't believe me. Thank God it never happened to me.

Madmark, they do that. We went round and round with our son's counselor and psych about med side effects and they were just sooooo sure that we were just getting a bunch of anecdotal crap and they couldn't even seem to properly interpret the freakin' info that the pharm company hands out on the drug!

I used to think that there was no way in hell that I could actually be smarter than someone with a degree in medicine, but I was wrong. I have gotten really tired of being smarter than them. And saner. And more compassionate.

Thats bad I know some of the docs dismiss the stuff they figure is not as bad as the illness
I have asked the pharmacy to print out from their pharmasudical book all effects of a drug when I felt I was badly affected and they will
I have also had very heated arguements with my doc if I cant tolerate something I wont

SSRI's can cause night mares and vivid dreams especially when wearing off. I found that taking my meds at bedtime calmed them down.

I was having creepy dreams on plain ol Seroquel. Now I am on a higher dosage of Seroquel TIME RELEASE. I was a 200 mg of seroquel and now 300 mg of the time release. PDoc said take it 12 hours before you want to wake up, but I usually forget til late and it doesn't take much to shake off. In fact, I don't drink any caffeine, but I do drink decaf in the morning and understand there's still a bit of caffeine, but I like the new seroquel- no nightmares for me. But that said, I NEVER watch shows like CSI Miami, Law Dramas, scary movies, anything spooky before I go to bed. What you watch does affect your dreams. It does for me, any way. If you are already on time release, then tell your doc. It might be your dosage.......
