ok so i was talking to my boss yesterday he said something cant remember what it was and triggered a depressive episode so i walked out of the building now he dosent know i have bi-polar how do i explain this to him in a way that i can keep my job or am i just fucked?

Depends on where you work and what kind of job you have. If you have a human recuses department it might be smart to go to them and explain the situation and give them your doctors telephone number.

I have had jobs in the past where it was just 1 manager/owner and I had to walk out several times. The last time I walked out and had to quit I told him what was wrong with me and he was very understanding and told me if I ever wanted to work for him in the future he would still be interested in hiring me back. So from my experience I have noticed that honesty works best.

This is always a tough call. I also believe honesty is best but you know the people you work with best. I am not sure I understand that something he said triggered a depressive episode. Is it over now? If so, it may be that something else was triggered that caused you to react. There are therapies that can help you with that also. Talk to your pdoc and get his take on your situation and reactions to triggers. There may be more going on that you need to address and it will help you avoid this in the future. Hang in there. xo
