Everything I read on these sites or books make it sound like we will always have ups & down. We'll never get better we'll just have less ups & downs. This is disappointing. I don't mind being on meds forever but, I want them to make me better like other medications for a heathy mind fix them. Why can't be fixed too! I love when I feel like me. I hate when my BP gets in my way.

Yes, but that's all. I don't want any symptoms of BP. My disappointment is having to live with this forever. I've ruined every amazing relationship. It sounds like all I can do is bring it down a notch :(

I like to think that if their were a direct cure for any ailment it would be brought forth and used to help people,anything else is stricktly paranoia. My wife has bipolar disorder and hasn't had an episode in years,myself I have been stable for 7 months,the same amount of time I have sober. I had to get the right doctor to help me. You can get better , don't give in to the hype.

Makes me think of when I asked the pdoc how long I would I have to take med.'s............he made a face and said always.

Yeah, I didn't care much when it finally sank in just how 'chronic' this condition is!!!

I hope that the course of your illness is a mild one and that you have a lot of 'feel like me' times in your life!!!
