im sick of meds.... do they work? dont they work? i just dont know any more. ive tried so many different kinds of meds... and im just unsure of whether or not there working. im still up and down. and i hate it. i hate taking meds. im so sick of taking them. but what choice do i have? i have a job... cant just get off them right now

Have you tried doing non-med things, proactive stuff without going off the meds? I'm not advising you to go off the meds, but exercise, eating right, dealing with the spiritual issues etc, could greatly help you, and maybe reduce the meds you need. Or not. But it wouldn't hurt to try and do some things to help. Being healthy physically is its own reward.

i dont have an apetite.. so im barely eating. im walking lots tho, and going out. im just sick of meds, dont want to take them. but i know right now i need them

Yeah, I sat there this morning, a disgusted look on my face, sullenly staring at my 7 morning pills!!!
But then I realize that being on meds forever is a bitter pill that I must swallow!!!

thanks... i know i need them... i just.. i dont know... i have to take them right now. maybe one day i wotn need them. i just wish i found the right ones already. im sure when i see my doctor hes going to change my meds yet again... its been two years of constant med changes

It is hard finding the right cocktail, and then you are on it for so long and may have to re-adjust mg. or change out a med because your body has changed or whatever. A never ending process. I have my meds, my pdoc, my tdoc, my support (here and at home..hubby) takes it all. Exercise eating right and all that is a big part too.

Well if worst comes to worst I gag down a piece of chicken and I mean a bite per meal and drink lots of water.

I dont cook well. But I ll put pasta in the water with frozen veggies drain and add spagetti sauce and call it a meal. All in one pan!

i forgot where i researched it, but being bipolar and not being on meds actually worsens the illness. so stay on meds. for me its a trick that i think i don't need them because we adjust and can't honestly feel the same we felt off meds. I have always had to go off meds for reasons beyond my control so i could wrong as far as long term goes, but still. bipolar has no cure, and prolly wont untill they finish mapping the human genome.
