I am dreading work tomorrow. I AM grateful to have a job. I just have a huge problem. I am overworked (we ALL are). I have a hard time also because of the constant distractions. I am. THE only one who doesn't have an actual office space. I sit at the back of a huge room with two cubicle walls. I also sit in the same room where two printers, a scanner and fax are used. sometimes it makes my ears ring. Also, people tend to have reallly loud conversations while standing at the printer, etc....here is a cast of characters:
The cigarette.....she smells like a wet cigarette and coughs all day. It is a slippery, wet nasty hack. It makes me want to barf
The laughing hyena....she is really a sweet girl, but when she laughs, it sounds like she is crying hysterically...and she doesn't just do it once in awhile. She does it after EVERY sentence. It is beyond annoying.
The pretty boy....he doesn't do much, but seems to get away with it...prob because his boss is d@&$ck charmed. He is pretty alright. He is "metrosexual". He acts like a girl. He types up notes and sticks them everywhere telling people "don't do this. don't do that". I think he may have ovaries. He also talks and acts like a girl...but I digress.
the top dog....has been with the company since its inception. He is very short, has the short man syndrome. He is a loud, chauvinistic creep. He is only friendly with the coworker who also holds the same position.
and if all of THAT isn't enough. There is my boss and HR. I am treated with EXTREME unfairness. I am discriminated against because of my weight For example, I had my window cracked open to get some fresh air. My boss made a huge production by coming to my desk and telling me I was NOT allowed to open the window (I have an approval BY the HR PERSON stating that it IS ok due to medical issues that cause me to overheat).....recently my boss came up for something and my coworkers had their window WIDE OPEN and it was like 8 degrees outside...she said NOTHING. hmm......??? I also have to climb two steep set of stairs...with my medical conditions, I have a note FROM my doctor stating that I need a ground level office. I was denied.
You are prob all wondering why I just don't find a new job?? Well...a couple of reasons....I have no self esteem because of the situation I am in. I am constantly berated. I respond by eating junk food, which causes me to gain more weight. So I feel like no one will want to hire a huge person. So I just stay stuck. I rely on my earbuds, pandora and my fan to keep me sane.
If all of this isn't bad enough....I have been there for 12 YEARS. I started at 9.50 and am only at 12.88 after TWELVE YEARS......
ANY IDEAS of how I can cope with this situation and also start gaining enough self esteem to start working to change this situation? I DO plan on asking my boss why I am treated differently than my coworkers...
Thank you for reading my novel.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.

When I volunteer, everyone hangs out around the copy machine with their coffees and chat, chat, chats away.
Maybe tommy is right - finding a new job. I'd try for a more gentle job. You do have 12 years of experience! Good luck! ((((hugs!))))
Is it the job you're doing as opposed to everyone around you??
Or do you think some therapy might help you??... I find "if" the upset is coming from within changing geography doesn't help much....xo
I sure wish you didn't feel like nobody would hire you bc of your size. If they are a company worth working for they should go by your brain and the experience and knowledge you have try not to let it hold you back. You deserve the best no matter if you weigh 90 lbs. or 600 lbs.!!
Ofc talking to your boss is a good idea too. Anything that shows you are trying to better your situation should help give you a lift. BIG HUGS!!
