Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. Do you have a sleep med you might be able to take an extra one of them, or even a half of one? Or a PRN anxiety pill, for example, that often times are prescribed for hypomania...to calm it down.
I take 10 mg Ambien, but my pdoc knows that once in a while, I take an extra one. He understands the same about my Ativan.
When I get like that, not much besides meds can help me mellow. Most things, even light music or a warm shower, they just put me on sensory overload.
It's tricky.
And I'm rambling. Just trying let you know you're not alone, and some things that have worked for me.
