Well my pdoc wants to see me tomorrow. She wants to lower my Seroquel dose from 600 to 450...i have been having alot of symptoms that could be being caused by the sroquel. She wants to see if i have any improvement with the following symptoms/possible side effects:

Sweating alternating with chills
agitation
Fevers
feeling like i have to keep moving
Problems sleeping
nausea
diarrhea

I am EXTREMELY nervous about reducing my dose because i am worried i won't be able to sleep and also that i will become suicidal or something. Seroquel is THE ONLY thing that really helps. I am also on lamictal but to be honest, i am not sure that it really does a whole lot?

So.. am feeling realllly anxious about this. Any advice. I am kind of freaking out about it. I am so tired of being so defective. I am sick and tired of feeling so awful all of the time :(

I understand where u are coming from. I would share your concerns with your pdoc. The only med that works for me is lithium and I need to go it even though I have frequent urination. Talk to your doc and see if it can be lowered a little less. Good luck!

Seroquel is an antipsychotic, you have akathesia symptoms. They could change you over to Zyprexa or any number of antipychotics and you would have beneficial results - not just Seroquel (although it's probably the best at turning people into sleepy zombies :D )

I agree with evildoer, it's akathesia. I had all these symptoms for months on Geodon. Thought I was going to lose my mind!! Tell you pdoc asap.

Bump

My pdoc is lowering my seroquel dose slowly. I was at 600 mg..i will be at 550 for three fays, then 500 for a few days and so on...i am to call the pdoc every few days to check in. I am really feeling anxious about doing this. :(

Sometimes akathesia can get worse the lower the dose goes - just a heads up. When I take barely any Seroquel I get sick compared to a larger dose.

I'm having a lot of the same problems and I thought it was depression, bad nutrition - seems the first bout was diverticulitis, and now - could be gall stones...

Just saying - it's not always bipolar/meds... wishing you comfort ASAP!

600 mg. is a pretty big dose. i hope lowering the dose helps you. sorry you feel so awful.

so far the decrease hasn't affected my sleep. however i can feel my mood changing. feeling VERY irritable. my pdoc is in creasing my lamictal to see if that will help. why was i born so defective ????

just be glad you have a doctor that seems to care about alternatives if things obviously arent working. and there are always detox centers.. if you want to make sure you are watched and dont want to bother anyone else with the stress of it all.. i would talk to your doctor about having them inform a detox center. my poor mom went to one for prescribed oxycontin.. poor thing didnt call her doc first and got treated like an abuser. she just wanted to get rid of the bad side effects.

My god I have had all of those symptoms on it .It brings back such bad memory's. I now take remereron its way much easier to deal with.

Your not defective, its just the disease, not your fault at all!!!! Please dont be so hard on your self.

I hope the med changes turn out to be a good thing for you.
