Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
That being said, I resist the proposition your doctor has set up- as if saying you are 100% "at fault" actually is helping you. What does that get you- if you say you are 100% at fault? You sound like you are taking responsibility for your recovery- and that you will do everything in your power (including recruiting others?) if you feel that bad again. So- that is taking 100% responsibility for your life and for your attempt, and, I think, is healthy. But why start attaching blame or fault?
You have BP. You tried to commit suicide, and you lived (yeah!). Now you are rebuilding things in such a way to not do it again. That's what matters, right? I'd try to ignore her attempts at blame and fault, and instead use the language of responsibility and prevention- that seems more useful in the long run.
