Bipolar Disorder - Teen Support Group
This community is dedicated to teenagers struggling with bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. Talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, and learn from others' experiences
What I do is do something I love or revisit something from my childhood.
Eat a piece of candy I loved as a child.
Watch a movie from back then, like the classics from disney.
Draw characters or imaginary friends I had back then.
Or simply run around the backyard acting like a dinosaur.
It was these activities as a child that made me alive and enjoy the day.
Revisiting or doing them again makes me feel like how I did before.
Also exploring your surroundings more and using your imagination helps, just like when you were a kid too.
A stick could become a sword and a tree could be a dragon.
I know all of this sounds silly but it helps in the time of depression and helps you feel better.
It could be your own little escape in your mind.
If you wanna talk about it, you can talk to me.
I have felt like that before. I am a recovered bipolar/manic-depressive. I have had this disorder since I was 13 years old, I am now 24 and have been on and off of medication since I was 18. I found the right combination a year and a half ago. I am very knowledgable in medication, I have researched it, I feel I should help others with bipolar disorder because when I needed good advice, I never got it . I had to figure it out on my own. I have been seeing a psychologist for 3 years. It has helped a lot. I hope I can help you in any way. I am not saying you have bipolar disorder, but I would like to ask you what exactly is bothering you? I know what you mean by you want to disappear, but you don't want to die. You will feel better, it just takes time and strength. What is going on in your life that is making you upset? I would really like to help, because I know what it's like to feel lost. Hope to hear back from you :)
