My name is Mikaelyn, and I am 16 years old. I have a boyfriend who lives in the UK, but otherwise I am alone. My father is bipolar, my sister is ill (she doesn't have a diagnosis yet) and I am in the process of being diagnosed with what they believe is bipolar 1 and anxiety disorder etc. I was hospitalized earlier this year and am my closest ever to going back to the hospital. My sister is there now.. even my little brother hallucinates. In short, my home situation is bad. My arms are covered in hideous marks from me ripping off my skin with my finger nails after I no longer had access to any knives... Since December I have been on or am on Zoloft, Seroquel, Latuda, Wellbutrin, Cymbalta, Lamictal, Ativan, and Klonapin. Would anyone like to be my friend or offer advice? I really love art and sculpture.. anyone else find that to be a coping skill for them?

Zoloft caused me to get worse.. I started it to minimize PMS emotional symptoms but at very low dose I started to get suicidal... and I would love to be your friend...

I love art as well! I prefer to write though as I'm not particularly good at art haha. However there's still something about art that makes me do it anyway! I love painting particularly because of the colors.

If you do not mind having an old duck as a friend I would like to be your friend please. I have a 17 year old son that has been diagnosed with bipolar 1 disorder in March. He also has ADHD. So we also need help and encouragment.

Since you love art and want to use it as a coping skill try watching art documentaries, read art books, draw, write etc. Writing really does help. Like write letters to people who have hurt you or write letters to yourself.
