Do you believe Jesus Christ is our Savior? Do you believe the ONLY way to get to Heaven is to accept Jesus Christ as the Son of God and your Savior?
Thanks.
"In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was WITH God, and the Word WAS God ... " and "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."
This verse tells us all that Jesus is 'The Word'.
Where do I believe Jesus is now? Bible says he is in Heaven with God.
Do I believe that Jesus is our savior? Of course I do.
Templ1e, I did not say that Jesus lied.
[JESUS IS ALIVE and HE lives in the hearts of TRUE CHRISTIANS and that is NOT false doctrine . ] Absolutely!! I agree.
Doesn't the bible talk about Jesus ascending into heaven? Yes, and he is also coming back. Scripture also tells us that he is staying on earth with he comes back too. Do you feel that he's not coming back to earth and to reign as our King? Even the OT tells us that. He will reign in Jerusalem forever. The Kingdom will be on the whole earth. Don't the meek inherit the earth? Doesn't Zech 14v9 tell us that the Lord will be King over the whole earth forever?
Once again, I think you are contradicting yourself.
Mark 15:37
And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.
Luke 23:46
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
John 19:30
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
All these scriptures keep telling me that Jesus willing "gave up the ghost" or spirit. It was not taken from Him. His human self died. His spirit lived.
And it( the scripture) says plainly that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God.
You see, this is where He belongs. Because He is a part of God. He is beside Him. The Holy Ghost (or Spirit) is with us. Mostly because He is our helper. He is the part of God who communicates between our spirit and God's spirit.
Here is the story Of Thomas after the resurrection of Christ. Thomas said he wouldn't believe until he could put his fingers into the scars of Jesus. But, what happened when he saw the risen Christ:
John 20
24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
Thomas saw with his eyes and believed. But, Jesus went on to say, "blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."
We are blessed.
[And it( the scripture) says plainly that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God.]
Yes, and it says that we went up to heaven bodily, not spiritually. So I'm really not sure what your trying to say here......
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 (KJV)
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
1 Corinthians 15:52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
We do not have an immortal body. We DO have an immortal soul. In Corinthians (above) it plainly states we shall be changed. The whole scripture is:
1 Corinthians 15:51-53 (KJV)
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality
But, that's just my opinion!!!
Exactly my point. Christ, or our savior, took on bodily form so we could truly say that He was tempted like us and He truly understood what we go through. The Christ, as God, never shared our sinful nature. He was tempted by satan. But, He never gave in to that temptation!! Praise God!!
I must bow out for a little while. I am on some very heavy pain killers right now and do not fully trust that God will and can speak through me. I am afraid I will say something that will be completely mis-interpreted. I cannot and will not, allow this to happen.
God be praised!!!
'
Thank you, Roger.
I have found that these discussions have opened an avenue to present what others think about the Bible. and Jesus. But, they also present some very "wacked out" views in my opinion. I am more concerned that others many think this is the only opinion out there. I have tried to present my opinion, hopeing that others will agree and say so.
I don't expect everyone to agree with everything I say, but this is why God gave us a mind to make choices!!!
