Roger the Minister - verse
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
also i read your statement of faith especially on salvation. i would have to disagree on things your left out and things you added according to Ephesians 2:8-9:
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Your statement of faith.
âWe believe that man is saved by the grace of God through faith, and that as taught in the scripture, mans faith involves repentance from sin, confession of faith in Christ and His atoning work at Calvary, baptism by immersion in water, and a life of faithfulness to Jesus Christ and His Wordâ
You have added baptism and a life of faithfulness to His word,
Consider: and that not of yourselves. To me that would mean we had nothing to do with our salvation. All we do is accept the free gift. Salvation is the work of God.
Rom 4:1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
Rom 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
Rom 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Consider Noah.
Heb 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and heir became of the righteousness which is by faith.
Heb 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
Php 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
Final comment. The four Gospels were written for and to the Jew only. See Matthew chapter 20. Acts is a transaction between the Gospels and the writings of Paul. Remember how Paul said he received the gospel not by any man but by face to face with Jesus Paul was taught the gospel by Jesus.
Faith - not works.
Faith - not baptism
Faith - not trying to live a life of faithfulness.
Faithfulness, works and baptism are a result of out salvation
