i am new to this group. i need to ask for some advise, and know that i am not alone. i lost my grandma on july 27th of this year, so it has not been that long. i couldn't be there, when she passed. i have not been able to see her that much in the last year. i didn't even know how sick she was. all they tell me is she stoped eating and only lasted 4 days. i was so very close to her. it hurt so bad, and now my grandpa is not good, i don't know how i am going to be able to handle loosing both of them in a short time. i don't know if crying will help or what. i am going through so much right now, i am also in the rape surviors group. so now you know. sorry about keeping on writting, i just need help, and don't know where to turn.

It will be 2 months tomorrow since I lost my boyfriend, and I know that I have "cried me a river" since then. If I don't cry for a few hours, it hurts worse. Every few hours, or at least once a day, I have a total breakdown, sobbing, etc. It feels like I am dying, but when I finally stop, I sleep, and when I wake up, it is not so bad. It kind of feels like having a wound cleaned; it doesn't heal it, but it kind of takes the pressure off. I was hoping I would react to this grief the way I have with other stresses, and be able to clean my way out of it. That has not been the case, sadly enough. I know that it feels like you aren't going to make it, and then other days it feels like you know you will make it, and you are really not sure if that is a good thing or not. I do know that certain things have set me off, and made things worse. I am a huge fan of country music, but I am avoiding it like the black plague. One trip through songs like "one more day" or any Colin Raye song have been the undoing of my sanity, and I just can't take it. Maybe soon I will. Talking will help. Doesn't matter who you talk to, and what you say to them. Getting it all out is the best way to cope. I know that driving past places that we used to go, or even places that we used to drive past, causes me an immense amount of pain, and a sense of dejavu that feels like my stomach has dropped out of my body. Things hurt. Lots of things hurt. Missing them hurts. Thinking about them hurts. But you know that the one thing that isn't hurting is your Grandma. She is happy, she is well, and she is where she is young again, and able to do all the things that she loves to do, and able to do it with all the people she has loved that have gone before her. And she is preparing to welcome home the love of her life. I don't beleive that people who die are sad that we aren't there, they are just looking forward to the time when we will be able to be with them in a magnificent place of love and happiness and peace, well and whole and free of any pain and restraints that have held us. Yes, pain is for those who are left behind. It hurts to be that person, the one left behind. But I know that I have to think of it now as not being left behind, only that he got a head start, and will be waiting for me at the finish line, cheering for me. I hope that you find the comfort and peace that you are looking for. Don't forget to talk to your Heavenly Father, he is the one who knows you, and knows what you are going thru. He does listen to us, and he will give you the comfort you seek, if you will ask him. :)
