When you're in a dark funk, beyond forlorn, and everything you say is negative, nobody can think of any words to say to respond to that.
I like how you talk about Brad WHEN HE WAS HERE. Please do more of that! That is a positive! That is life! That is what matters to you!
God bless you vader
1. Most people realize that we are hurting during this time and know that being given the time and space to grieve is important for the healing process. No one can bring us out of our depression it is something that we must do alone. We need to come to the conclusion that the death, while tragic, doesn't mean that the World stops spinning. The Sun will continue to rise and set. Life must go on.
2. Most people really don't know what to say and they have their own issues to deal with. Let's face it, if a friend has a scratch on their car that will be their priority. Other than listen to us share our pain there really isn't much that anyone can do for us.
3. Many will never have to deal with the issue of suicide. Therefore many have absolutely no idea on what to do and are too embarrassed to do anything other than disappear.
I am sorry for your loss. I too had a young friend commit suicide this year. She left behind a loving husband and two twin toddlers. We have all had to deal with the guilt that comes from hind sight. But dwelling upon it is a dangerous thing. Often the deceased is committed to killing themselves with no thought of how it affects those who remain behind. I speak of this while dealing the the Overdose of a young cousin just before Christmas. We are all grieving and trying to come to terms with such a senseless loss. In time we will heal, we will remember but we will be stronger.
